DESCRIPTION:Join us for ThankOffering Sunday hosted by the Women of Nativity (WON). \n\nAs we make our ThankOfferings\, we share in a tradition that goes back to the 1800s or even earlier.\nThen\, when it seemed that there was not enough money to carry out the work of the church\, the women would take action. Gathering in groups called “cent” or “mite” societies\, each woman would set aside offerings at home throughout the year\, in thanksgiving for blessings received. And on occasion\, the women would come together as we do today\, joining their offerings together to support ministry of many kinds.\n \nWhen Women of the ELCA was formed 30 years ago\, we committed to continue this tradition of giving in gratitude for blessings. Each year\, in thousands of congregations\, ThankOfferings are given to support the life-changing ministries of Women of the ELCA. Together\, we do more than we could ever do apart. In gratitude for all God has given to us\, and with hope for all that is to come\, let us now give our ThankOffering.\n

SUMMARY:Stone Salad
DESCRIPTION:A relaxing healthy lunch after the holidays; for those unfamiliar with the story\, the fable is about Stone Soup.  Each person in the village donated one item for the soup and thus a yummy pot was created.  We do Stone Salad.  We ask all participants to bring one item you might find on a salad bar\, such as; cheese\, eggs\, croutons\, beans\, etc.   In the past I take a lot of abuse about my view of BEETS\, do as you will\, just don’t put it by me.  Bring your item ready to go into the Fellowship Hall before the service and it all will be ready for you afterwards.  Fellowship will have the greens\, dressing\, crusty bread and beverage.  If you wish to attend\, please sign up on the kiosk in the Narthex.  We will take a free will offering.
